Facts You Should Know

Some one said, The universe is like a book written by God. This book consists of the whole planetary system and its surroundings. God wants us to see His greatness, to know He is almighty, and to understand His love. This is what we can experience in our daily lives.

Let’s begin our discussion with the sun. the sun is 865,370 miles in diameter. It produces light and heat, and its surface temperature can reach 10,322° F. Even though the distance between the sun and the earth is over 93 million miles, the light from the sun still reaches the earth and the heat still keeps us warm. Production of energy requires fuel. How much fuel is required to produce such a large amount of solar energy? Also, who is responsible for continually supplying such a large amount? We know that oxygen is necessary for combustion. Then how much oxygen is needed? Surprisingly, scientists tell us that solar energy is produced by a nuclear reaction. Such a large amount of energy is produced from a small amount of fuel and no oxygen! Who is able to do this, except God?

Again, we are amazed at the wisdom of God, if we consider the close relationship between the amount of heat from the sun and its distance from the earth. It is estimated that if the distance between the sun and the earth was shortened by 5%, all living organisms would be burnt to death. However, if it was extended by 5%, we would all freeze to death. Or, if the heat reaching earth from the sun were to increase or decrease by 50° F, all life on earth would end.

The sun also provides us with nutrients. Almost all agricultural products require some kind of sunlight. Human beings who are deprived of ultra-violet light may get rickets. The cure is vitamin D, calcium and sunlight. Again, we recognize the great wisdom and love of God to His creation.

The Bible says, “God saw all that He had made, and it was very good…” (Genesis 1:31) God was satisfied with His own creation, but some people are not. They attempt to replace natural products with man-made ones. Let’s compare some examples:

  1. ‘Sugar’ and fruit children like candies which are bad for their teeth. But fruit is good for children, even though it also contains ‘sugar’ (fructose). There are different nutrients in fruit that can help children to have stronger and better teeth. See, how wonderful the Creator is! Both contain ‘sugar’, and both are sweet. But candies and refined sugar have no nutritious value at all.
  2. Vinegar and lemon many people like to add vinegar to their food. Too much vinegar will irritate the stomach. Chemically produced vinegar is even worse than rice vinegar, because it is so acid. However, if lemon juice is used instead, not only does it bring out the original flavour in the food, but it also stimulates the appetite. In addition, it contains much vitamin C.
  3. Planets and satellites man-made satellites slowly disappear after a period of time, but not the planets God has created. They are everlasting. The moon revolves around the earth and the earth revolves around the sun. it has been so for thousands of years. But not a man-made clock. Even the most accurate clock in the world after several years will have an error of 1 or 2 minutes. Then we can only reset the clock by what God created the earth and the moon because they are accurate and dependable.
  4. Books and the Bible There have been thousands of good books written by different great writers. Each of these books can be useful only within a certain period of time, or can fulfill the needs of only a certain group of people. But the Bible, which was given by inspiration of God, is profitable for all kinds of people, for all times. It helps to solve all kinds of problems in the world. It also tells us the mystery of the Kingdom of God. It is the most popular book in the whole world. It has been printed in over a thousand different language versions.
  5. A Camera and the human eye The construction of a man-made camera is based on the structure of the human eye. However, if a human eye was like a camera, it would be necessary to set the speed, the distance, the aperture and to develop the film before anything could be seen! Can you imagine how much trouble this would be?

These are some examples which show that God’s creation is better than man’s. The Bible says, “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without any excuse”, and “No-one has ever seen God, but the only Son, Jesus who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.”

Because man has sinned, he is separated from God. By accepting God’s Son Jesus as your Saviour, you will have everlasting life.
